Pupils in Year Six can expect a wide range of homework as they begin to prepare for the transition to secondary school.
English homework for the Spring term is based around the grammar and punctuation element of the curriculum.
New spellings are tested as an asssessment every Monday, children will then bring home a sheet with highlighted words to learn for Friday. Further spellings are based on results from retests on Fridays.
Reading at home to an adult is encouraged at least 3 times a week with a reading task from the front of the diary to be completed each week.
Daily maths homework is set from the Spring term to enable pupils to practise and consoidate learning in small chunks - this is expected to be handed in the next day. Maths Booster sessions will be starting late January- details to follow soon.
Homework club is open to all Y6 children every Wednesday after school.
