How Pupils are grouped for learning

Throughout school children are grouped in a range of ways to maximise teaching and learning opportunities.

Within Reception, Year One and for some pupils in Years Two, Three and Four children are grouped for Read Write Inc phonics each day to ensure they are receiving appropriately focussed lessons relative to their phonic ability. Assessments are carried out every six to eight weeks with children regrouped accordingly.

From Year Two onwards children are grouped for maths with group compostiion being fluid to ensure children are receiving the appropriate challenge and support to ensure rapid progression.
